Let’s Play Bingo: Relationship-Building Style!

The end of the summer is upon us, and many people take the last few weeks of the season to retreat from their busy day-to-day life and spend some more quality time with family and friends. If you want to use this time to deepen your connections with your loved ones, it may be a good idea to think intentionally about how to push yourself to have more meaningful conversations rather than resort to small talk at the family barbeque!

Making a goal into a game is one of the best ways to make things happen for yourself! And this can most definitely be applied to goals within relationship-building. And have we got a game for you: relationship-building bingo!

You can use this bingo card as a challenge to yourself to have more meaningful conversations throughout the end of your summer (or whenever, really). Each square includes something that you can discuss or find out about a friend or family member, and serves as an incentive to guide a conversation with them that may lead to deeper understanding and connection. Once you’ve discussed the square’s topic, cross ‘em off! A great goal is to “get bing”, (meaning you’ve crossed off five squares in some direction on the board), but you can challenge yourself even further by setting a goal of crossing them all off over whatever span of time makes sense for you! You could also keep this in your back pocket at any sort of social gathering at which you may be talking to multiple people, and see how many you can cross off with different folks.

Keep this game in your social toolbox as you navigate the end-of-summer gatherings and trips, and you’ll be sure to deepen some connections. Happy bingo playing!
